Nokia 6-inch Lumia 1520 Phablet Gets Pictured, Headed for Oct. 22 Launch Event

From DailyTech: Like many rumors, reports that Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) subsidiary Nokia Oyj. (HEX:NOK1V) would unveil its upcoming Windows Phone 8 GDR3 six-inch phablet at a Sept. 26 press event in New York City proved premature. Nokia reportedly opted to bump that unveil date till Oct. 22, according to WPCentral and the @evleaks Twitter account.

While fans and those curious will be disappointed at the wait, the later unveil actually makes more sense as the device itself doesn't start shipping (reportedly) until November.

Meanwhile image leaks continue. A user of Chinese microblogging site Weibo posted an image purportedly of a Lumia 1520. Mysteriously, though, the device is branded with a Verizon Wireless logo. AT&T, Inc. (T) previously had been rumored to get the device first. But it now looks like Verizon Wireless -- now a sole subsidiary of Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) -- may get a piece of the action as well.

A second leak, from a Chinese telecommunications regulatory employee testing the upcoming device (as noted by CtechCN), reveals/confirms the following spec for the device:

quad-core Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) Snapdragon 800 SoC
on-die LTE (via Snapdragon chip)
2GB of RAM
32GB of storage
20-megapixel rear-facing camera
6-inch 1080p (1920x1080 pixel) display

Pictures of the device also were leaked by the employee.
