From PC Mag: If you need a phone or tablet that can take a beating at work, Samsung has announced Pro versions of its rugged Galaxy XCover 7 smartphone and the Tab Active5 tablet.
Both devices are come with MIL-STD-810H drop protection, IP68-rated water and dust resistance, and 5G connectivity. They "have been tested for use with common workplace sanitizers, ensuring durability in environments requiring frequent cleaning," Samsung says.
When compared to the non-pro models of both devices released last year, the pro versions offer upgrades to the battery, processor, connectivity, and display. (And AI, of course.) Both devices also swap MediaTek and Exynos processors for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset.
The XCover 7 Pro phone sports a 6.6-inch display, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, and a 4,350mAh battery—up from the 4,050mAh battery on last year's device. The smartphone doesn't come with an S Pen like the tablet does, but the displays on both devices feature enhanced touch sensitivity so you can use them while wearing compatible gloves, Samsung says.
