Is This Still Available? Facebook Marketplace Now Lets Meta AI Respond

From PC Mag: If you’ve ever sold an item on Facebook Marketplace, you know that “Is this still available?” messages will commonly flood your inbox. New AI tools from Meta, announced on Thursday, aim to make Marketplace listings easier to manage and interactions with real people smoother.

The update includes a new toggle to turn on an auto-reply from Meta AI whenever someone asks about your item's availability. An example from Meta shows its AI writing a message to say, “Yes, it’s still available, do you have any questions?” as an automatic response sent to all availability queries.

After an initial prewrite from Meta AI, you can edit the message to include any other details you want to add. You may choose to share more information about an item's condition, whether you've had many interested parties so far, or whether you’re unavailable for collection at certain times.

Another option from Meta AI is to let the assistant set up the listing for you, write the description, fill in key details, and suggest a price based on similar items in your area. You upload the item's images, and Meta AI handles the rest. You may need to edit some elements for accuracy, and, as with all AI-powered features, you should check it to ensure it hasn't misrepresented the item.
