From PC Mag: Logging into your personal accounts is a major stumbling block for agentic AI tools: you tell your assistant to complete a task, but they need your credentials to do so. Now, ChatGPT Work is further automating that.
A new feature announced on Tuesday allows ChatGPT Work to log in to websites and complete tasks using that information on your behalf. For example, if you tell ChatGPT Work to book an appointment at the DMV on your behalf, it will now use your information to access your personal account and complete the process with little to no input from you.
To do so, ChatGPT Work takes your login credentials from a third-party password manager. If you ask it to complete any task that requires a login, a new window will appear asking which password manager to use. It may also need help with other security steps, such as two-factor authentication.
OpenAI says it won’t ever see or record your username or password, so it won’t be used without your permission or for training purposes of its tools. It does warn logged in sessions may continue for future tasks. If you want to stop that for select services, you can head to Settings > Cloud browser > Browser data and find the website you want ChatGPT to forget.
