From PC Mag: Longtime users of Twitter's desktop client for Mac might want to start looking at some alternatives, as Twitter has yanked it from the app store and will soon no longer support it.
"We're focusing our efforts on a great Twitter experience that's consistent across platforms. So, starting today the Twitter for Mac app will no longer be available for download, and in 30 days will no longer be supported," Twitter announced Friday.
Twitter's Support team is recommending Mac owners use Twitter.com—not the most useful advice for those who prefer the convenience (and functionality) of a desktop client.
Few people actually loved the app; its rating on the Mac App Store was a paltry 1.7 out of five stars prior to its removal. But many were still irked by the news.
