Walmart adds to its list of acquisitions to take on Amazon

The site, which offers affordable prints and art pieces, caters to millennials and people looking to decorate their first apartments. It’s been around since 1998, and many people have come across it at some point while trying to decorate their college dorm. It’s a little more grown-up now, featuring home decor offerings and more than 2 million curated images that appeal to millennials with Crate & Barrel dreams on a CB2 budget.

Walmart is trying to establish itself as a “specialty retail destination for the home,” and this deal is another addition to the company’s growing list of acquisitions in its quest to take on Amazon. Amazon offers art prints in addition to original work from artists and dealers. (For example, you can buy a signed Banksy screenprint for $135,000 with $4.99 shipping.)
