From DailyTech: Blockbuster will roll out its new DVD rental kiosk to 188 new stores located in the New England area. The Blockbuster kiosks will be available in 188 Tedeschi food shops, which has stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Blockbuster is working with NCR -- the companies already introducing the kiosks in 89 stores. The remaining locations will have the kiosks by the end of 2009 if all goes according to Blockbuster and NCR's projected goals. Tedeschi chose NCR over other competing rental kiosks, including Redbox, due to the additional features available in NCR Express kiosks. The DVD rental business model continues to be flooded with new competitors, so each company is attempting to sign licensing agreements with movie studios. Redbox has numerous licensing issues with several different movie studios, opening the door for other services to try and iron out agreements as soon as possible. View: Article @ Source Site |
