G.Skill Releases World’s Highest-Performing 24GB Memory Modules Kit

From X-bit Labs: G.Skill, a popular supplier of advanced memory modules, on Wednesday revealed the world’s first 24GB DDR3 memory kit that is officially capable of working at 2.0GHz clock-speed. The new memory kit combines extreme clock-speed with extreme density, which will make it a demanded products among enthusiasts seeking for high-performance in both gaming and professional applications.

The new 24GB DDR3 kit from G.Skill consists of six 4GB memory modules capable of working at 2000MHz with CL8 latency settings and 1.65V voltage. In order to ensure high stability of its PC3-16000 set, the manufacturer recommends using active cooling and installs rather advanced heat-spreaders onto the modules themselves.

The 24GB kit is designed for extreme gamers with demand for high clock-speed and professional users who expect higher memory capacity can improve their PC performance. Typically gaming applications gain more from memory bandwidth provided that there is enough memory in the system, whereas demanding professional applications take more advantage of memory capacity.

Although G.Skill promises cutting edge performance and compatibility across a range of popular motherboards designed for gaming or for high-end workstations, it should be noted that neither quad-core nor six-core Intel Core i7 chips support memory speeds higher than 1066MHz officially. While there are 2GB modules capable of working at 2GHz in triple-channel mode, 4GB mean much higher density and therefore it is harder to make them work stably at blazing speeds.

Pricing of G.Skill’s 24GB 2.0GHz memory kit is unknown, but it can be expected with high degree of probability that it will cost over $1000.
