iPad 2: Apple Sets Online Orders Time, Releases GarageBand

From PC World: A day before the iPad 2's launch, Apple has announced online order details for its latest tablet.

Customers who want to order the iPad 2 from Apple's website can do so starting at 1 a.m. Pacific (4 p.m. Eastern) on Friday, March 11.

The iPad 2 goes on sale in Apple stores, AT&T, Best Buy, Target, Verizon Wireless, Wal-Mart and select authorized Apple resellers at 5 p.m. Friday. Buyers can get free personal setup service, including e-mail setup and app installation, at Apple stores.

The iPad 2 is lighter, thinner and faster than its predecessor, and includes cameras on the front and back of the device. Pricing for Wi-Fi models is $499 for 16 GB, $599 for 32 GB and $699 for 64 GB. Tack on an extra $130 for 3G capabilities from either AT&T or Verizon Wireless.

We've done more than our fair share of coverage since last week's announcement, including a visual tour of the iPad 2, a launch primer, an analysis of the announcement itself, a list of missing features found in Google's Android Honeycomb OS and some things to consider before buying.
