Microsoft Introduces Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel

From DailyTech: Microsoft's E3 keynote yesterday revealed the upcoming release of several new video games as well as features like Kinect Fun labs and voice recognition. Now, the tech giant has more coming your way with the announcement of the Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel.

This wireless wheel/controller is compatible with all racing games "right out of the box," but has limited functionality in some games. Its purpose is to allow users to have a more realistic gaming experience.

The new wheel will have buttons for gas and brake as well as standard controller buttons (ABXY and D-pad) to make the device flexible for anyone's driving style. It will also have a rumble feedback as an added realistic feature.

The Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel will be shipped to retailers worldwide on September 26, 2011, but will not be for sale until early October. The speed wheel will cost $59.99.

The Xbox 360 is Microsoft's second video game console, and is the successor to the Xbox. Since its launch in late 2005, the system has certainly grown in popularity, having sold over 53.6 million Xbox 360 consoles worldwide as of March 31, 2011. With ongoing deals like offering students a free Xbox 360 with every $699 PC purchase, and new features like the ever-popular Kinect on its side, the Xbox 360 is doing very well for itself.
