Lenovo Unveils Two Notebooks, Portable LCD

From DailyTech: Lenovo has trotted out some new products this week with the unveiling of new notebook computers and a new portable LCD. The new notebooks include the ThinkPad Edge E525 (15.6”) and ThinkPad Edge E425 (14”). The portable LCD is the ThinkVision LT1421 Wide.

The new notebooks are very similar in specs other than the screen size. Both use AMD A-series APUs with Vision Pro Technology for multitasking and mainstream graphics performance. Both of the notebooks also have AMD Radeon graphics onboard and can be fitted with up to 750GB of storage. Available RAM is up to 8GB.

The notebooks have multimedia and expansion options with DVD burners, powered USB ports, and a memory card reader. The rigs also have HDMI outputs along with optional fingerprint readers. Both of the new notebooks also come with the ThinkVantage Communications Utility 2.0 that works along with the low-light webcam and noise-suppressing keyboard to allow for video chats in low light and less noise.

“These latest ThinkPad Edge laptops combined with the ThinkVision mobile monitor equips small businesses with an extremely powerful technology toolkit,” said Luis Hernandez, vice president, ThinkPad Edge Business Unit, Lenovo. “From creating content on the road to conveniently displaying presentations, video, or other content, this solution fits the demanding requirements of growing small businesses.”

The mobile monitor announced is the ThinkVision LT1421 -- it is a 14-inch display that weighs less than two pounds and is less than a centimeter thick at its thinnest point. The monitor gets all the connectivity and power it needs from a single USB port and it uses a picture frame style stand. The screen has 16 levels of brightness and comes with a screen cover.
