Quick Note: Apple Addresses Early Lion Bugs with 10.7.1 Update

From DailyTech: Steve Jobs may often proclaim that "It just works", but that hasn't always been the case with OS X 10.7 Lion which was released late last month. There have been plenty of issues with the new operating system and Apple has released the 10.7.1 update to address them.

The official release notes for 10.7.1 are as follows:

Address an issue that may cause the system to become unresponsive when playing a video in Safari
Resolve an issue that may cause system audio to stop working when using HDMI or optical audio out
Improve the reliability of Wi-Fi connections
Resolve an issue that prevents transfer of your data, settings, and compatible applications to a new Mac running OS X Lion

The HDMI dropout issue was especially problematic according to some Ars Technica readers. "You know, that's funny. I just bought the mac mini last week and took it back because audio would cut out on HDMI," wrote one commenter, chordoflife. "I got the run-around at the apple store and through express lane and their telephone support, only to find out 3 or 4 days later (today) that it really was a software problem on their side, and not my TV or HDMI cables, and that it's fixed."
