Photo-Sharing Site 500px Hacked, 14.8M Accounts Accessed

From PC Mag: If you are one the millions of photographers out there that have a 500px account, take note, your account has been hacked and user data stolen.

Yesterday, 500px revealed that its service had been breached on July 5, 2018. Your first thought would rightly be to question why 500px took so long to tell us about the unauthorized access, but it didn't know the hack had occurred until Feb. 8.

In a support post, 500px explains that its engineering team became aware of a security issue on Feb. 8 and a comprehensive review was launched. A "third-party expert" was brought in to assist and law enforcement was informed of the breach. As a precaution, all 500px account passwords have been reset.

According to PetaPixel, a total of roughly 14.8 million accounts are affected by the security breach. Any account created before July 5 last year was accessed in the breach.
