Google's iOS Gboard Can Translate Text Into 103 Languages

From PC Mag: Last month, Google updated its Gboard keyboard for iOS and added haptic feedback. This month, the Gboard update is all about being able to translate text into lots of different languages with very little effort on your part.

Version 1.42.0 of Gboard for iOS launched on March 14 and the most notable new feature is the ability of the keyboard to tap into Google Translate. Anything you type using the keyboard can be automatically translated by Translate into any of the language it supports. The total is currently 103 languages.

As Engadget points out, the same feature has been present on Gboard for Android since 2017, but it's taken until now to appear on iOS for some reason. Anyone interested in using it on their iPhone must be running iOS 9 or later. Triggering a translation from the keyboard is easy. Google detects the language you are typing in automatically, so simply tap the Google button and then select a language to translate into. Text can be copy and pasted in to be translated.
