From CNET: Google Assistant has finally come to Sonos.
After first being announced in 2017, the company is rolling out Google's voice system to its speakers, including the Sonos One smart speaker and Sonos Beam sound bar today. Now Sonos owners can choose between talking and listening to either Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
The rollout will begin in the US before expanding to "more markets to come over the next few months," Patrick Spence, Sonos' CEO, said in a shareholder letter last week.
Both devices have long supported Amazon's Alexa and can be controlled from Siri on iOS devices via AirPlay 2. The addition of Google offers a different alternative for those outside Amazon and Apple's respective ecosystems.
