From Forbes: Filed on the 28th June, the trademark classification is for use on smartphones and cameras. Ilse Jurrien reports:
The trademark is categorized as Class 9, with the description; 'camera for smartphones; camera for generating virtual 3D images; lens for smartphone camera '.
The name DepthVision Lens therefore seems to refer to a ToF (Time-of-Flight) camera, or a depth camera. A week ago, Samsung also recorded the name Make & Play 3D , which seems to indicate that the ToF camera on the Galaxy Note 10 will have new functionality compared to the S10 5G model.
Samsung is expected to launch three variants of the phabelt under the Note 10 brand - the regular Note 10, a ‘Pro’ Note 10+, and a 5G version of the Note 10+. Given the unofficial information that is currently available, the expectation is that the two higher-end models will come with quad-camera setups that will include a 3D time of flight camera.
Presumably this is where the ‘DepthVision Lens’ will be featured as an option in the camera software.
