From CNET: Apple will get ready for the school season as the MacBook Air is getting a discount college students and a display upgrade. The company will also update its MacBook Pro and give it the same education discount.
Apple will cut the price of the MacBook Air to $999, which is $100 lower than it's $1,099 regular price according to a release Tuesday. The updated MacBook Air will have True Tone added to its Retina display. The 13-inch MacBook Pro will receive the same price drop for students to drop it down to $1,199, and it will have its processor upgraded to an 8th-generation quad-core processor, which the company says will make it twice as powerful.
Another update for the entry-level MacBook Pro is the inclusion of the Touch Bar and Touch ID. Its display will also have True Tone Retina display, and the Apple T2 Security Chip will also be included.
Apple's Back to School promotion starting Tuesday also includes Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones with the purchases of qualifying Mac notebooks and iMacs.
