Microsoft Working on Windows 10 'Cloud Download' Recovery

From PC Mag: The latest Windows Insider build that leaked last week reveals Microsoft is experimenting with a cloud recovery option for Windows 10 users. It has the potential to make recovering your desktop or laptop from a corrupted installation of the operating system much easier.

If you've ever had to reinstall Windows due to something going horrible wrong, you know it can be a nightmare. Re-installation typically requires using the Windows image that shipped with your laptop or PC, which could be a few years old. However, that could change when Windows 10 version 20H1 releases in spring 2020.

As ZDNet reports, Microsoft is planning to introduce a cloud download recovery option. Reinstallation of Windows would offer two options once it's available: "Cloud download" or "Reset locally." The cloud download would most likely allow the latest version of Windows to be installed, meaning you bypass the hours of Windows Updates that would be required if using the local image.
