Control Your Xbox One With Google Assistant

From PC Mag: Xbox One owners already have the ability to control their console with Alexa or Cortana, but now Google Assistant is set to join them.

Today, Microsoft announced that the digital assistant capabilities on Xbox One are expanding with the Xbox Action for Google Assistant. For now, it's available in beta form and only in English, but the plan is for a broader release in the fall along with expanded language support supplied via Google.

Signing up for the beta requires joining the Xbox Google Group using the Google account you intend to use with Assistant. Once signed up, sign into your Xbox, then in the Google Home app (iOS or Android) setup a new device and search for the [beta]Xbox entry that should be listed in "Have something already set up?" Once selected, sign into the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox and follow the instructions provided.

With the link made, it will now be possible to use Google Assistant to turn the console on or off, launch games and apps, pause and play videos, take screenshots, and adjust the volume to name but a few of the uses. The full list of compatible commands can be found on the Xbox Insiders subreddit.
