Apple Bans Vaping Apps

From PC Mag: Vaping may not be as bad for your health as smoking cigarettes, but that doesn't mean it's a healthy habit. Now Apple is responding to reports of lung injuries and fatalities by banning vaping apps from the App Store.

As Axios reports, as of this morning all 181 existing vaping apps listed on the App Store have been removed and Apple's App Store Review Guidelines have been updated. No new apps "encouraging or facilitating the use of these products" will be allowed in future, meaning anything vaping related is no longer acceptable on Apple's mobile devices.

Apple never allowed apps enabling the purchase of liquid-filled cartridges, which vaping devices rely on. However, some vaping devices could be linked to an iOS app to help control certain features such as temperature and lighting, or more widely, some apps were for vaping games or news. They are all now effectively banned.
