Report: Samsung Launching Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

From PC Mag: It looks as though Samsung is preparing to launch a successor to the mid-range Galaxy Tab S5e, but the new tablet will drop the "e" from its name and replace it with Lite.

As Android Headlines reports, the tablet will be called the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and will resemble Samsung's premium 2019 tablet the Galaxy Tab S6. However, the internals are tweaked to allow the S6 Lite to hit a more budget-friendly price point.

We should expect it to use an Exynos 9611/Snapdragon 600 series chip and 4GB of RAM, which is a downgrade from the Snapdargon 855 and 8GB of RAM in the S6. Two models of the S6 Lite are expected with 64GB and 128GB of memory, and it will run Android 10 out the box. One notable change is the S Pen, which is thicker than the S6 version meaning it won't be able to slide inside the tablet. That also suggests Samsung intends to sell it separately, again to keep the price down.

The S6 Lite would be a successor to the S5e, which launched in Q2 last year for $399. The S6 sells for $649. It seems likely Samsung will launch the S6 Lite at $399, matching the S5e while also making it $100 cheaper than the iPad Air, and $30 cheaper than the latest iPad with 128GB of storage.
