Microsoft Is Doubling the Price of Xbox Game Pass for PC on Sept. 17

From PC Mag: Although most of the focus is on new Xbox consoles and Game Pass right now, Microsoft has been offering Xbox Game Pass for PC in open beta with an introductory price of just $4.99 for a while now. However, that changes later this month.

As Engadget reports, Microsoft has confirmed via Twitter that on Sept. 17 the introductory price is being retired and PC gamers will start paying double. The new $9.99 monthly subscription only comes into affect after the next billing cycle for existing subscribers and anyone who signs up before the 17th.

Even though the price is doubling, Game Pass remains very good value for PC gamers, and especially now that EA Play has been added for an additional 60+ titles alongside the existing 100+ Microsoft offers. And whenever a new Xbox Game Studios title launches, you get to play it on release day. All you need to take advantage is a PC running Windows 10 and the Xbox app. A decent graphics card or laptop GPU helps, too.
