Microsoft Flight Simulator Launches on Xbox Next Summer

From PC Mag: The latest version of Microsoft Flight Simulator has been available to PC gamers since August, and ever since it launched we've been wondering when Microsoft will release the game for Xbox? Now we know, and Xbox Series X and Series S owners are in for a long wait.

As Eurogamer reports, yesterday Microsoft confirmed that Flight Simulator will be available for both new Xbox consoles next summer, meaning there's at least another six months to wait before it launches. Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, promised in a blog post that Xbox owners, "can expect the same level of depth as the PC version, allowing you to experience the most authentic and realistic flight simulator we have ever created."

What that means in reality is the ability to fly all over the world, landing at over 37,000 airports and cruising above two million cities, all while enjoying (or enduring) the real-time weather system "in a dynamic and living world." The other good news for gamers who take their simulations very seriously is Microsoft's work with a number of third-parties to develop and launch new peripherals to support the game on consoles.
