Fujifilm Launches a Nintendo-Themed Instax Mini Link Printer With Pikachu Case

From PC Mag: Fujifilm and Nintendo have teamed up to offer a new version of Fujifilm's Instax Mini Link photo printer complete with Pikachu silicone case and Ash White (Red & Blue) color variation.

Fujifilm launched the Mini Link printer back in Oct. 2019. It weighs just 200 grams and wirelessly links to a smartphone via a Bluetooth connection. A dedicated app for Android and iOS is used to select from a range of 36 frames to surround your tiny photos before printing them, but the collaboration with Nintendo extends the options considerably.

A new version of Fujifilm's app is being launched that can grab images captured on your Switch. It does this using a QR code displayed on the Switch which the app captures as a way of transferring the image to your phone before it gets printed out. The app also introduces 59 new frames to choose between themed around Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Mario, and New Pokémon Snap.

Although the new app will work with existing Mini Link printers, Fujifilm is using the opportunity to try and sell more printers by launching a special edition Nintendo color variant called Ash White (Red & Blue). It's not obviously Nintendo-themed, but it's sure to be a popular choice, especially considering it includes a bright yellow Pikachu silicon case to slot it inside.
