From PC Mag: Twitter officially launched Super Follows this week, inviting people to earn monthly revenue by sharing subscriber-only content on Twitter.
"With Super Follows, people can create an extra level of conversation on Twitter (sharing bonus tweets and more) to interact authentically with their most engaged followers—all while earning money," staff product manager Esther Crawford wrote in a blog announcement.
First introduced in February, Super Follows is aimed at "anyone who brings their unique perspectives and personalities to Twitter to drive the public conversation," including activists, journalists, musicians, writers, gamers, beauty experts, comedians, and more.
The feature lets users charge followers for monthly access to exclusive content—a la Patreon. It's available first to folks in North America who applied for a Super Follows subscription. To join the waitlist, open the sidebar on your Home timeline, tap Monetization, and select Super Follows; you must be 18 years or older, have tweeted at least 25 times in the past 30 days, and have at least 10,000 followers.
