Samsung Launches a 24-Inch Monitor With a Pop-Up Webcam

From PC Mag: Samsung has launched a new 24-inch monitor this week aimed at hybrid workers who regularly sit down for video-conferencing sessions with colleagues and customers.

It's called the Webcam Monitor S4 (S40VA), and has 2W speakers, a microphone, and a pop-up webcam built-in. The webcam is the most interesting feature, offering a 2.1-megapixel full HD camera and infrared camera in a module that is only revealed by pushing down on the top of the monitor to make it spring up. That way you can be sure of some privacy when you push it back down inside the monitor casing.

The webcam is certified for Windows Hello, which Samsung claims allows for your PC to be unlocked in two seconds. I doubt that time includes pushing down on the monitor to make the webcam pop up, though.

The display is 1080p with 250 nits of brightness and supports AMD FreeSync. It includes a HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2, D-Sub, audio in, and headphone ports, and there's also a built-in USB 3.0 hub (one up, two down) and the ability to wall mount if you so desire.
