From CNET: Apple is holding a product launch event Oct. 30, when it's expected to make announcements related to its Mac product line.
The announcement comes after Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported the company is gearing up to launch a new 24-inch iMac. Apple hasn't updated the 24-inch iMac since 2021, when it gave its all-in-one desktop a colorful makeover and its M1 chip. Gurman reported on the development of a new 24-inch iMac as far back as March, writing then that the new iMac was at an "advanced stage of development," further indicating it could debut at this event. His more recent report, however, also suggests the MacBook Pro could be due for a refresh.
Apple doesn't disclose which products it's announcing ahead of its launch events. However, the company has historically released new Mac products around this time of year. In November 2020, for example, it introduced its M1 chip for Macs, the company's first in-house processor. It also launched a Mac Mini in October 2018. The invitation for the Oct. 30 event doesn't provide many clues, but it does include the tagline "Scary fast," possibly referencing its M-series processors. Also, the event page on Apple's site has the Apple logo turning into the MacOS Finder icon.
The event also comes just before Apple's next quarterly earnings call on Nov. 2.
