From PC Mag: Spotify is rolling out an AI Playlist feature in beta that will allow you to type in a prompt to get a curated list of songs, the music-streaming service announced Sunday.
Users can reference fictional characters, real-life locations, or emojis in their prompts, according to Spotify's blog post, and the AI will create a playlist with 30 songs that attempts to match the vibe. The feature will be visible from the Library menu alongside a sparkle icon.
Once users type in their prompts, they'll be able to refine and edit their AI playlists using more text prompts before they're officially created. Spotify's AI will even give the playlists a name that relates to the prompt.
What's the catch? For now, the tool is in beta and only available to Premium users on Android and iOS in the UK and Australia. Spotify's AI playlist feature also won't accept prompts that mention brands or current events, and says that any "offensive" prompts aren't allowed, either.
