From PC Mag: Access to X, formerly known as Twitter, has been restored to some users in Brazil after the Elon Musk-owned company moved its operations in the region to servers hosted by Cloudflare, according to a post from X's Global Affairs account.
Last month, Brazil's Supreme Court banned X because the company failed to comply with its directives and appoint a legal representative for its presence in the country. It then temporarily froze some of X and Starlink's assets until a fine worth about $3 million was paid.
When the ban was implemented, X was denied access to the infrastructure that helps run the app in the Latin American region, according to a statement from the company. "To continue providing optimal service to our users, we changed network providers," it said.
X's new network provider for the region is Cloudflare, which uses constantly changing dynamic internet protocols (IPs). This makes it easy for X to bypass the ban, whether by accident or on purpose, and difficult for Brazilian authorities to block the network provider.
