From PC Mag: Amazon appears to be delaying shipments of its new Kindle Colorsoft ereader to fix a glitch that displays an unwanted yellow bar at the bottom of a device's screen.
In the US, the company has pushed back deliveries of the Kindle Colorsoft from Nov. 9 to Nov. 18, according to Good e-Reader, which noted that Amazon has also been reaching out to affected customers to better diagnose the problem.
“Amazon just called me from Seattle, they asked me a bunch of questions about my Colorsoft,” a user on Reddit posted on Sunday after leaving a negative review of the product. “They explained they are collecting data, and working on a software solution (as we all know). They also explained that they would follow up with me if it required a hardware swap, but to be patient while they work on this.”
The Kindle Colorsoft, the company’s first color ebook reader, launched on Oct. 30 for $279.99, with preorder shipments beginning the same day. However, customers who’ve received the product say that the faint but still glaring yellow haze can intrude on the reading experience.
