From PC Mag: Instagram has added three new features to make direct messages (DMs) more engaging. You can now share your location with a friend or a group for up to one hour, use over 300 new stickers, and add nicknames for yourself and your friends.
To share your location, head over to a chat, tap the Plus button, and select Location. You can choose your current spot or search for a desired location.
Unlike WhatsApp, which allows you to share your location for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour, location sharing on Instagram is set to one hour by default. The links will automatically expire after an hour, but you can manually stop sharing them any time before that.
Shared locations can't be forwarded to other chats, and you'll also see a "You are sharing your location" reminder at the top of the chat. Instagram still warns that you should only "share your location with people you know in real life."
