Waze Incident Reports Are Rolling Out Now to Google Maps

From CNET: Google Maps and Waze are making good on updates that were promised back in July. The services, both owned by Alphabet, are offering more information to drivers about traffic cameras, car crashes and speed traps that users on both apps can report or respond to.

According to user posts on Reddit and blogs such as 9to5Google, the updates are starting to roll out to some Maps and Waze accounts, making it easier to report incidents. In July, Google said some of these changes were already rolling out on Android and iOS, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and to cars with Google built-in. Users are now seeing a pop-up at the bottom of their navigation that tells them where the report came from and gives an option to confirm or deny that this is what they're seeing on the road.

Google did not immediately respond to a request for confirmation on the new reports.

The features also appear on the Waze app and show up even when a phone's screen is locked.
