Google AI Studio to Get Mobile App For Vibe Coding on the Go

From PC Mag: Another popular Google AI tool is getting its own mobile app. AI Studio, a Gemini-backed workspace for developers creating apps and websites, is coming to phones in 2026.

Logan Kilpatrick, Google’s product lead for AI Studio, posted a teaser on X, saying he "can't wait" for the release. In a follow-up message, Kilpatrick says the app will help you “vibe code on the go.” Another member of the Google AI Studio team, Ammaar Reshi, used the replies on the post to ask users for ideas on features they would like to see in its mobile version.

Neither Kilpatrick nor Reshi provided details on how AI Studio will look on mobile, when it will launch, or which platforms it will support. Google's other AI tools, such as Gemini, are available on the App Store, which may indicate that AI Studio will also be available on iPhone and iPad.

Google describes AI Studio as a way for developers to “use natural language to generate fully functional apps." Since its launch in late 2023, the web-based version has become a popular way to vibe code, a process where developers prompt the AI to take on the heavy lifting of code generation, allowing them to focus on ideas for improvements down the line.
