Android Phones May Soon Let You Tell People Your Call Is Urgent

From PC Mag: Everyone has a friend who never answers their phone, but a new rumored feature for Android devices may encourage them to pick up important calls.

Hidden in the latest public beta of the Phone by Google app, as spotted by Android Authority, the brand appears to be working on new notification tech which appears on a recipient’s phone telling them your call is urgent.

The feature is called "Expressive Calling," and it’s hidden within the code of version 201.0.833052069 of the app. You can’t currently access the feature, and it's unclear if it'll ever make it to the final version of the app.

According to Android Authority’s research, the feature may appear under the title “Call Reason."

It would give four options to send, including Catch up with a wave emoji, Quick question with a question mark, News to share with a bell icon, and It’s urgent with an image of a siren.
