Continuing on with my thoughts about blankets, having a good blanket to fit your personal needs is essential in living a healthy life as sleep is a vital part of our everyday lives. Just like how blankets are essential for our health, CPU coolers are essential for the health of your CPU. Taking this into mind, how did the ARCTIC Freezer A13 X fare as a CPU cooler? Starting with the packaging, the general box was nice, but the interior packaging was lacking in the protection of the product itself. It would have been nice to have some form of cushioning to protect the cooler. When we talk about the general build quality, there were some places that could improve the overall build quality like having nickel-plated copper heatpipes. This would help with maintaining its performance over a long period of time. The top fin could be made thicker for a stronger build as well, but this issue was mostly taken care of through the full heatsink cover design. Where the Freezer A13 X did shine was in its installation process and performance. Installing it was super easy, and although it did not outperform my other cooler in testing, it still fought quite a worthy battle when considering the much smaller size and weight of the Freezer A13 X. The Freezer A13 X had pretty decent performance for both the idle and load tests, which were quite surprising to me while I was testing. This is not to mention it is very reasonable in terms of noise. At a price of $28 USD at press time, this cooler is an excellent deal in my opinion. If you are looking for a cooler on a budget for your AMD CPU, this is no doubt a great option.
