Cooler Master Hyper 212 Pro Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Pro remains a solid CPU air cooler the Hyper 212 series have always been. During my testing, it performed well in cooling my midrange AMD CPU for both the idle and load tests. When the fan speeds were low, the noise produced was nearly silent, while higher speeds produced a noticeable, but still reasonable, amount of noise. The contact plate utilizes a direct contact design, which has cooling performance benefits. The appearance is sleek and minimalistic, while the design is simple and standard for a single tower and fan CPU air cooler. The fan also has a solid expected lifespan of around 160,000 hours. Although it does not affect the performance, I really liked the ARGB LED feature on the fan, which worked seamlessly with my motherboard control software. As for the installation, the instructions are easy to follow with a very straightforward process. Cooler Master even included a tube of their CryoFuze thermal paste, which can be used for reinstallations. The only improvement I can think of is to add a layer of nickel plating on the contact plate to boost its corrosion protection. At press time, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Pro can be bought for $40, which I find to be a very fair price. This is, however, $10 more than the almost identical Hyper 212 Black, which does not have an ARGB LED fan. Overall, the Cooler Master 212 Pro is a sleek CPU air cooler with great performance. There is little to complain about it, doing its job simply and effectively at an affordable price, now with ARGB LEDs for the masses.
