Cooler Master MasterFan MF120 Prismatic and SF120M ARGB Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

The Lake Louise Ski resort provides a beautiful view of the mountains, but primarily backs up its reputation with quality ski runs. Similarly, the Cooler Master MasterFan MF120 Prismatic and SF120M ARGB have also proven their quality beyond just their impressive visuals. The Cooler Master MasterFan MF120 Prismatic has good performance with consistent airflow and strong static pressure characteristics. The addressable RGB lighting is stunning thanks to the unique crystalline loop, which was well-designed to allow the color dispersion to be as extravagant as possible. The fan is built well and the rifle bearings offer a long lifetime. For an MSRP as low as $30, I think this does lean toward the pricey side for case fans. I wish the MasterFan MF120 Prismatic was quieter, but I would say the solid performance and exceptional lighting make it worth purchasing. The Cooler Master MasterFan SF120M ARGB is also a solid choice for a new fan. The addressable RGB lighting looks quite good thanks to the dispersion on the frosted fan blades. The quadrant RGB diffusers on the side of the frame are unique and further adds to the look of the fan. The quiet performance is the stand-out star and speaks to the strong build of the fan, specifically with the patented dampening frame. The dual ball bearings provide strong mounting durability and an astoundingly long lifetime. The performance of the MasterFan SF120M ARGB was perfectly serviceable, although the airflow and static air pressure could have been stronger. While the additions of the fan control switch and anti-vibration mounts could be better executed, I think having these options still adds value to the fan. At an MSRP of $35, this is yet another hefty starting price. However, I think the impressive build quality, unique RGB lighting, acceptable performance, and extensive 5-year warranty gives it some justification. Overall, the Cooler Master MasterFan MF120 Prismatic and SF120M ARGB are both great choices for fans if you have some cash and want some good looking fans that are built well and can cools down your gaming rig.
