Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120R RGB Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

On paper, the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120R RGB has all the right points to make this an excellent AIO cooler option. While the biggest change from previous MasterLiquid AIO liquid coolers being addressable RGB, it keeps the rest of the package up to date by providing good cooling in a smaller package. Starting from the unboxing, the ML120R is a solidly built unit with good material choices and a nice touch of braided tubes for a good look. I am really happy to see Cooler Master include two of their fans. Installation was quite straightforward, whether you wanted to install two fans or one fan. Once you plug the cooler in, the whole package comes to life with its vibrant colors and neat effects. When it came to cooling performance, the ML120R kept up with even its bigger brother, the ML240R RGB. However, if I were to look at improvements, I think the noise performance and the included lighting controller can be refined. While the MasterLiquid ML120R RGB was capable of keeping our test bench cool, it was quite audible. Both the pump and fans were working hard and I think strides can be taken to hush these components. As for the RGB controller, I think this is a simple fix by including better documentation while securing the connection points. At press time, the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120R RGB is available for $100 USD. While this is not exactly a bargain price, especially with such a short warranty coverage, the vibrant lighting and sufficient cooling performance make the ML120R RGB a viable liquid AIO, especially in tighter places.

The Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120R RGB biggest selling point may be its flashy lights, but it is also a very capable cooler with a smaller size.
