The Crucial T710 2TB is the brand's latest flagship, promising impressive linear throughput up to 14500MB/s and up to 2.3M IOPS. Did these numbers translate well in our benchmarks worthy of being the brand's flagship? According to my tests, the T710 is the fastest storage device ever tested here at APH Networks. There were a couple of fully synthetic benchmarks that the T710 did not do well in -- namely, AIDA64 and HD Tune Pro -- but for those designed to mirror real-world performance, such as PCMark 10, 3DMark, and PassMark PerformanceTest, as well as pure throughput tests like Crystal Disk Mark and ATTO, nothing even comes close. The Crucial T710 2TB is an absolute winner by a wide margin in basically all tested workloads. Underneath the hood, this flagship SSD is powered by Silicon Motion's latest SM2508 controller, delivering not only top tier performance with native full drive encryption support, but also in an energy efficient way. The Micron-branded G9 276-layer triple-level cells also supported solid write endurance at a rated 1200TBW. As always, should anything go wrong, Crucial offers a 5-year warranty to back you up. For about $240 at press time, the Crucial T710 2TB is one of the hottest -- not literally, of course -- PCIe 5.0-based NVMe SSDs on the market today. If you want one with a heatsink, look out for one coming down the pipeline. But for now, if your motherboard heatsink is sufficient, this is the solid state drive to buy for those looking for top tier performance with no compromises.
