Epomaker HE68 Lite Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

The Epomaker HE68 Lite is a great option when it comes to an entry-level Hall effect keyboard. The packaging offered a good amount of protection and accessories to cater to your experience. The build quality is good, even for an ABS plastic build. The appearance is consistent with a nice white theme. The lighting of the HE68 Lite is appealing, offering vibrant lights through reflections and diffusion. This gives us a bright and evenly spread appearance when it comes to the LEDs. In terms of performance, the Clear Mag switches provide a nice deep “clack”, but the linear travel does feel off if not pushing down straight on the key. If the Clear Mag switches are not to your preference, you can easily swap them out, given the hot swap nature of the keyboard. This sound is only achieved through the combination of the switches and the foam usage throughout the keyboard. Inside the keyboard, we find a basic tray-mount design accompanied by foam, which offers a standard typing experience. The included braided cable will do a sufficient job in keeping the HE68 Lite up and ready to use. The lighting control on the keyboard was acceptable, but if you want to go further, you can use the Epomaker 3.0 software. This software is quite good, as you can adjust the Hall effect options on the keyboard in it as well. At a price of $50 USD at press time, the Epomaker HE68 Lite is a good choice for anyone looking for a budget-friendly Hall effect keyboard.
