Patriot Viper Elite 5 Ultra DDR5-6000 2x24GB Review (Page 10 of 10)

Page 10 - Overclocking and Conclusion

With AI upending the supply of DDR5, it is likely going to be a long drought before we cover another DDR5 memory kit here at APH Networks. To close off what has been a very good run, how did the Patriot Viper Elite 5 Ultra DDR5-6000 2x24GB with the legendary SK hynix M-die chips under the hood fare in our performance and overclocking tests? If you recall, I was able to push the Viper Elite 5 Ultra RGB DDR5-6000 2x24GB up 40% to DDR5-8400 with the timings loosened to 40-52-52-135 to match the Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-8400 2x24GB that has the same ICs. The non-RGB version we are reviewing today did not scale as high despite identical hardware under the hood, stopping at DDR5-8000 stable with verified Prime95 stability. Nonetheless, this is still a very impressive 33% overclock, showing that, while your mileage will indeed vary, all our Patriot RAM with M-die ICs overclocked tremendously well. In our performance tests using a PC with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K CPU, the Patriot Viper Elite 5 Ultra DDR5-6000 2x24GB delivered solid performance for its speed class. The medium profile heatspreaders should easily clear adjacent heatsinks, and if anything goes wrong, there is a lifetime warranty like other Patriot Viper memory products. Keep in mind these are not CUDIMMs, so there is no clock driver used to regenerate the clock cycle for improved stability at higher frequencies. For about $560 at press time, or whatever the price and availability is when you are reading this review, the Patriot Viper Elite 5 Ultra DDR5-6000 2x24GB is a yet another quality memory kit in the company's portfolio that features SK hynix's awesome M-die ICs that overclocks to the moon.
