SilverStone Shark Force 120 and 160 Series Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

I was honestly incredibly surprised by the SilverStone Shark Force 120 and 160 series, as I have had a first experience in my testing process of the fans literally blowing itself over. All models share in their appearance as their general shape and form are unanimous. 140mm variants are available for those who want that size. The key differences are that the RGB models sprout translucent blades, while the non-RGB models use simple black blades. The RGB LEDs look good in the ARGB models as it typically does. Looks aside, where the Shark Force series really shines is in their performance. Our tests revealed that all models executed our tests with more than good air movement characteristics. The power of these fans was so shockingly powerful, they blew themselves right over. Of course, some sacrifices had to be made. With specifications of 2500 RPM for the SF120B and SF120B-ARGB as well as 1600 RPM for the SF160B and SF160B-ARGB, we observed them to be quite loud. That said, this is only applicable at full speed. There are only a few users who will have to consider the noise, but PWM control and 0RPM capability will suffice for everyone else. Currently, the SF120B sells for about $25 USD, SF120B-ARGB and SF160B for about $30 USD, and the SF160B-ARGB for about $35 USD. These prices are decent for the performance you are getting from them. If you want something that performs extremely well and do not mind little bit more background noise, SilverStone's Shark Force series is a great option for you.
