Digital Storm teases its new Steam Machine

From PC World: Small is in, bulky is out, and Steam Machines are all the rage in the PC gaming ecosystem. Digital Storm teases us Wednesday with its Valve approved high-end PC which will be unveiled at CES 2014 next month.

The few details we do have include options for liquid cooling, an Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan graphics card, an up-to-700W power supply, and advanced airflow thermal management. This all is packed into a new small chassis that is designed for the living room.

Digital Storm’s Steam Machine will come with both SteamOS and Windows operating systems installed to ensure any PC game can be played from the couch on the big screen.

If all this sounds like a pricier option than the new consoles from Microsoft or Sony, you’re spot on. The system will start at $1469, and the price will increase with more advanced options. Digital Storm claims to capitalize on PC gaming’s graphics advantage rather than compete with the pricing of standard consoles.

In the meantime, you can check out the teaser page to sign up for more information as we get closer to the January 6, 2014 announcement date.
