Apple Launches 8GB iPhone 5C in China, Europe

From DailyTech: Just yesterday, reports were circulating that Apple would be rolling out an 8GB version of the iPhone 5C smartphone. Those reports have proven to be true with the new 8GB version of the iPhone 5C landing in China and Europe.

Carriers across Europe are currently taking orders for the 8GB iPhone 5C. UK carrier O2 and French carrier SFR are said to be offering the device for free on contract.

The 8GB version of the phone is available directly from the Apple Store as well with an unlocked version selling for £429 making it £40 cheaper than the 16GB version of the smartphone.

The new 8GB iPhone 5C is available in multiple colors and other than having less storage; the device has the same exact hardware found in other iPhone 5C versions. It's unclear at this point if the iPhone 4S will be discontinued now that the 8GB 5C is available -- as of now the iPhone 4S is still on carrier websites.

The 8GB iPhone 5C has yet to make an appearance in the U.S.
