From DailyTech: With companies like Apple, Samsung, and HTC taking up the bulk of the attention when it comes to smartphones, it’s easy to forget that Sony makes some high-quality devices running Google’s dominant Android operating system.
Today, Sony is looking to add a bit of a “premium” feel to the mid-range smartphone market with the introduction of the Xperia T3, which Sony claims is the “world’s slimmest” 5.3” smartphone at just 7 mm thick. The 5.2-ounce Xperia T3 is wrapped in a stainless steel frame that Sony says, “‘mirrors’ the world around you.”
Given it’s positioning in Sony’s smartphone lineup, the Xperia T3 comes with a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 720p TRILUMINOS display (277 PPI), and an 8MP Exmor RS rear camera. A 2,500 mAh battery feeds the smartphone, which Sony says is good for 688 hours of standby, 8 hours of video playback, and nearly 13 hours of talk time.
The Xperia T3 will be available in white, black, and purple when it launches next month.
