From DailyTech: We have covered numerous reports over the years that have suggested that Amazon would introduce its own smartphone. It’s only been in the past few months, however, that we’ve gotten concrete evidence that the company indeed has a product that was close to production, courtesy of leaked information obtained by Boy Genius Report.
The way the people interact and move their heads/eyes to track the device seem to line up well with BGR’s assertion that the device will feature multiple front-facing infrared cameras that track user movement. The resulting 3D effect is said to allow “Amazon’s interface [to] display additional information on the screen without the user having to touch or tap anything,” according to BGR.
Amazon will unveil its new smartphone on June 18 at an event in Seattle. The event will be open to the public.
