Google Glass Gets Memory Boost to 2GB, New Software Features

From DailyTech: The Google I/O conference kicks off later today, but that doesn’t mean that Google has to save all of its announcement for the show. With that in mind, the company has announced that Google Glass is getting a slight hardware/software upgrade.

After performing a few tweaks in the past year to increase battery life by 20 percent and voice searches by 10 percent, Google will now start shipping Glass with 2GB of RAM (up from 1GB) to further improve performance.

In a statement to The Verge, Glass product manage Steve Lee said that the move to 2GB of RAM “Will allow for more Glassware [apps] to run in parallel and for each Glassware to start more quickly. You'll notice the device generally feels a bit faster and more reliable."

Other enhancements include a viewfinder that allows you to frame a shot before capturing it. The option is brought up by simply saying “ok glass, show viewfinder.”
