From DailyTech: Samsung may be dominated the sales charts around the globe with its current smartphone offerings — like Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 3 — or will look to continue with those success with the upcoming Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4. However, when it comes to notebooks, things are a bit murkier.
The South Korean technology giant announced today that it will withdraw from the European notebook market. The company is bailing after years of declining sales in the global PC market and especially tough times in the European PC market.
"We quickly adapt to market needs and demands. In Europe, we will be discontinuing sales of laptops including Chromebooks for now,” said a Samsung spokesperson in an interview with TechAdvisor. “This is specific to the region – and is not necessarily reflective of conditions in other markets," said a Samsung spokesperson.”
Things must be especially bad for Samsung if it can’t even manage to record decent sales of its relatively low-cost Chromebook machines, which seem to be carving out a pretty respectable slice of the U.S. PC market pie.
