Microsoft Band is Coming to the UK on April 15th; U.S. Retail Presence Expands

From DailyTech: Market research indicates that fitness bands narrowly outsold smartwatches last year, thanks in part to lower price points and more appeal to athletes. Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) in October 2014 put Fitbit and other market leaders in the band wearables space on notice when it launched its $199 USD Microsoft Band, a smartband which packed an industry-leading 10 sensors.

Until now the band had been exclusive to Microsoft Stores. But apparently pleased with the device's reception, Microsoft has announced it will be expanding availability. Brick and mortar retailers carrying the band in the U.S. will include:

- Best Buy Comp., Inc. (BBY)
- Target Corp. (TGT)

Additionally, the band is available in the U.S. from Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN). Amazon's UK portal will soon carry the device as well.
