Moto G Play phone lands as Amazon Exclusive

From CNET: If you're in the market for a new phone, here's an offer to consider. Amazon has just added the Moto G Play to its collection of Prime Exclusive handsets. Available now for the discounted price of $100, down from $150, the Android powered smartphone has modest specs but is unlocked and supports various flavors of 4G LTE.

Specifically the Moto G Play will be compatible with the big four US wireless carriers (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon) and likewise supports both CDMA and GSM based cellular networks. You'll also be treated to modern version of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and a 5-inch 720p HD resolution screen.

This is the third phone for Amazon to offer this way, after the Motorola Moto G and the $50 Blu R1 HD.

Of course, there is a big tradeoff to get your hands in this phone for $50 less. As a Prime Exclusive handset, Amazon will do its best to tempt you by flashing special ads and offers across the lockscreen. If you're still interested, the Moto G Play is expected to officially be available through Amazon on September 15th.
